Happy Monday All! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to get back at it! This is an install week for me so I will have plenty of pics and updates to share soon! Also be sure to check out IG to get the real time scoop as we put together bedrooms for two adorable boys.
I am happy to report that spring is a mere two days away. Am I the only one obsessively counting down? I cannot wait to leave the house without boots! This time of year I find myself drawn to particular color combos, specifically blue and white. It feels fresh and bright and very “house from Something’s Gotta Give.” Which, sidebar, is one of my favorites. That house, comprised of beautiful shades of blues, tans and whites, was soothing and elegant at the same time.
Here are some other blue and white rooms that I pinned for inspiration to share with you:

Morning and HAPPY Thursday All! I know all of you have been holding your collective breath with great anticipation…what, pray tell will be thee 2019 Color of the Year? All kidding aside, in the world of all things design, it’s a thing. And….drumroll please….. Behr has chosen a beautiful, calming blue, called Blueprint S470-5. Per their release, Behr states that Blueprint, “... is an honest, approachable color that conjures up the blueprints that builders rely on to bring architectural designs to life. Blueprint creates a space where you can build your own reimagined life-—where awareness of what we want to build for ourselves can transform into action”. That seems like a lot of pressure to put on a color, but nevertheless it is a shade that can work with many different styles to create a stunning result.
Whenever new colors are released I start playing with the tones to find products and fabrics it could be paired with. In this case, I gravitated toward a more neutral fall color palette, using this stunning shade of blue as an accent color like the photo above. Below are some fun pieces to bring in a little bit of the Blueprint feel for fall.
I hope this inspires you to try new colors at home…or at least help to get you in the mood for a little fall decorating. I have been procrastinating on this front, but with a long weekend ahead there are beacoup projects planned, including bringing the bins labeled “FOR FALL” down from storage. I may be most excited that they are labeled, sorted and can actually be found this year thanks to my ongoing operation organization (read: days spent in the hot attic this summer….sorting, sorting and sorting). Onward and upward friends! Bring on the Pumpkin Spice Lattes!
Hello! So I have had one of those starts to the year that can be summed up like whack-a-mole. Everything needed time and attention at once and despite my best laid plans, I was not able to keep my blogging resolution. So now that I have sufficiently beaten myself up about it, I am hitting RESET and starting anew. That is after all what Spring is about!
So let’s talk design, color and all things SPRING starting with some things I am loving that I wanted to share with you…and P.S. I have been totally fixated on navy and white lately so….
First Up- YES! I am the crazy lady who set her alarm at 3am to jump on Pottery Barn’s site to pick-up some of their new Lilly collab…overall there were some great prints, but I was hoping for a little more tableware. Nevertheless, I am hearing that a second line may debut in April so if you are planning parties by the pool this Summer, let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Next- I typically check Target for outdoor furniture, as I have had great luck in the past purchasing a patio set that has withstood all the fun Spring and Summer can dish out. This Season they have stepped up their game with these fab French Bistro chairs. They are stackable and come in navy/white and gray/white. They also have a version that can be folded and another that is bar height, all at great price points for a popular, on-trend style. FYI, some choices are sold out online and are available in-store only. Additionally, there is a 35% off sale on patio, with an additional 15% this weekend with code SPRING. And BTW, I am not affiliated with Target for this info., just sharing some great finds!:)
And the next item is part of what I would call “the classics.” Gorg…you cannot have enough of….they go with anything, anywhere…. blue and white ginger jars and vases. And this time of year with tulips, cherry blossoms and daffodils, they are the perfect vessel to make a statement.
And then there is this painting that I have been stalking for some time. There is a “Friends and Family” event going on now, so perhaps the time has come to finally purchase it….
Lastly, although these tiles are not necessarily “spring” they are a strong trend right now and are available in a million prints and colors. I am loving the combo with navy and white cabinets like the ones below from Grenada Tile….
Hello All! Lately my dining room table desk has looked like this and I am ready to turn the page and move on to projects more fun than bookkeeping and taxes (though both necessary when running a biz… sigh).
So back into design mode tomorrow (after having a BIG glass of wine tonight) and looking forward to a few upcoming projects: 1) developing an inventory for yards and yards of fabric accumulated during my 12 years of running Sara Langley Designs Accessories and then sell said fabric to make room for new projects. You can view my progress here; 2) work on interior design projects for clients – so excited to share the “afters” with you soon; 3) work on my own makeover as a guest participant in the One Room Challenge. Phew! So excited!
In the meantime, I am crushing on blue and white prints and am looking forward to bringing them into some projects I am working on. Some inspiration as follows:
Morning All! Although we started the day with below zero windchill temps here, the sun is shining!! I am getting inspired to bring a touch of Spring into our home and usually use the living room mantel as a jumping off point. Here are some Spring styled mantels I am loving for inspiration:
Because I have several of these glass vessels I was thinking about adding colorful eggs this year like this one from BHG:
To replicate this look you can find the eggs here on sale, and the glassware here:
I also want to bring in some floral branches, and love the idea of incorporating items from my collection of pitchers like this pic from Chic on a Shoestring:
I am really partial to blue and white and want to incorporate some of my ginger jars and vases into my Spring mantelscape like this gorgeous look from Enchanted Home (spent hours perusing this site…so beautiful!):
LOVE the scale of the vases and branches from Enchanted Home:
And the reflction of topiaries from Stone Gable via Pinterest:
And because it is #ironstonewednesday here is a little Spring-spiration from my home to yours:
